Deciding from values, not just feelings
Husband Rebuild · 6d ago
Feelings are real information, but they swing hard during pressure. One day everything feels hopeless, the next it feels fine. If you steer a long-term decision purely by today's mood, you will swerve all over the road. Values are steadier. What kind of partner do you want to be, regardless of the outcome? What can you live with, and what can't you? Those questions hold still even when feelings spin. They give you a compass that does not flip every time the wind changes. Write down three things you value in how you want to show up, separate from whether the relationship continues. Post them. When a hard decision looms, check it against those values first, then your feelings second.
